Wildlife Portraits: Looking for close up photographs of nature and creating something special

When I am out walking with my camera, and using a long zoom lens (300 or 600), I look for opportunities for close up photographs of nature, images of wildlife that fill my frame. I love to create photographs of wildlife that perhaps, in some small way, might just help to increase awareness of how amazing and beautiful nature is, and that demonstrate how photography can capture such wonderful details that we might not otherwise see.

In these close up images of wading birds I reduce the exposure of the background so that the subject stands out, leaving just a glimpse of water, and some subject reflection to create a unique picture.
